Welcome Marc Lucarelli!

Chubby Checker, Dave Mason Group (English singer/songwriter from the 1960’s group Traffic), Chuck Berry, The Shirelles, and Mark Farner (from the 1970’s group Grand Funk Railroad) are just some of the famous acts that Marc Lucarelli has toured or performed with over the past several years.  Marc has toured in Japan, and has also performed on many iconic television shows such as a Dick Clark Special, Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert, The Mike Douglas Show, Phil Donahue, and the Wolfman Jack Show!  And now, Marc will be drumming with Northeast PA’s iconic band, The Poets.  He will be taking over the sticks from Toby Naro, who retired after 40 years.  We’ll certainly miss Toby, nonetheless, we are excited to have Marc as our new drummer!

We have been friends with Marc since meeting him in 1967 (when he was playing with the band Canned Music), and he actually sat in with The Poets many times from 1981 to 1983 in between his stints with Chubby Checker, with whom he toured for many years.

Having been friends with Marc for almost 50 years and knowing his excellent drumming, we knew he would be a perfect fit for The Poets.  And we’re happy to report that after several months of practicing with Marc and playing several sets with him in preparation for the transition, he has not disappointed us or our fans (thanks to his finely honed skills, our first-rate performances continue on).
